Well, remember, for the most part armor was custom-made in actual historical times…
But I agree with the scales thing. And Rio does make a point that is so often glossed over- cover up your armor, ’cause then opponents can’t see the weak points.
alright! Ashton gets to share more bandages! I’m curious though…just how much is he packing under that coat?! and for the moment…I dearly hope his “armor” is actually scales. that would be so freakishly awesome. ^_^ also, if a lot of that blood isn’t Rio’s…who’s is it? the head deer guy? hmmm…..
Ashton seemed really nervous when he answered Rio about armor being under his coat… It might really be scales. o.o … But then Ashton always seems nervous to me… :/
The whole scales thing does seem foreshadowed what with the comment on dragon based eye colour, and that if he was wearing chainmail the whole forest could hear him so much as breath hard. leaving him either a twig in normal/very padded armour or something innate/skintight

Chainmail is pretty one-size-fits-all. It drapes and form-fits really well.

My first thought was that armor would mean that Ashton was even thinner than he looks.
Mind you, scales sounds tantalizingly plausable to me.

I can TOTALY picture Ashton with scales! That’s what all of the bandages are covering! :D
