Oh noo, I’m sorry guys! The site’s all borked right now because there were some security compromises in the setup. I’m rooting it out now, but things might look a little ugly right now. I always feel bad that I don’t blog more, but my life is intensely boring outside of the pages themselves. I always feel bad when I run into people I haven’t seen in a while, because when they ask what I’ve been up to the answer is usually “day job, comics, and sleep.” (At least two of those three things are doing what I love, right?)

I guess it’s exciting that I’ve been crazy in the mood to watch anime again recently! I’ve actually finished several series in the past month or so, which is a lot more than I can say about any TV show in the past EVER. I really love that places like Hulu are streaming episodes, so I can keep on the up and up with things. Are any of you familiar with the show Shiki? It ended up being a LOT more violent than I was expecting so beware if that’s not your cup of tea, but it ended up being really compelling. It was a little frustrating because while there are some really great characters (NATSUNO :’y TOORU, my dear sweet Tooru ;_;), the designs for them are just TERRIBLE. I worry it turned a lot of people away from the show, because it almost did for me. I mean really, how am I supposed to take THIS seriously:

YIKES.

Also, I am TOTALLY in love with the series Tiger & Bunny right now! It’s like a weekly reminder that I CAN like superhero stories, since I’m not really a fan of the genre most of the time. It’s a really fun series with a great, likable cast, that is definitely going somewhere interesting. Also, the main character, Kotetsu, is SUCH a sharp dresser, oh my goodness. He’s made me want a pair of black and white wingtip shoes SO BAD, but they are shockingly hard to find! Alas, my quest continues…

Happy Valentines Day tomorrow, everybody! In celebration, I finished the set of goofy grade school Valentines I started last year. You can find them in the Extras section now! Next year I’ll do a couple more characters, too, because these are just too fun!

Also, looks like my 200th page is coming up next Tuesday, which is crazy exciting! I want to do some kind of celebration picture, but I can’t really figure out what would be a good thing to do for that. I guess I better figure it out soon, though!

Ahh, that’s been my problem lately, though- I never have any idea what to draw! The comics pages themselves still come pretty easily, but when I try to do illustrations I clam up so, so much. I wish I knew how to get out of it! I guess the best way is to CHARGE ON. I’ll try to get some more stand-alone illustrations up soon!

Oh man, so Nekocon was last weekend, and it was a pretty cool con! It was weird for me because I’ve been going to anime conventions since I was 13, but I’ve only ever tabled at one before, and it was before I started the comic! The atmosphere is TOTALLY different than comics shows, but everybody was super nice! I spent most of the weekend with my table bros, Dechanique, NeevK, and Jadie! They are totally rad ladies, and made getting into tabling, ANIME STYLE, a lot easier! I also got to spend some time with the super awesome Eren and Chezhnian of Tamuran, and I met Liliy of Wiglaf and Mordred! I’m already looking forward to doing another con, so I can bug them all forever and ever! :’D you guys all rock!

I got to meet a lot of you awesome readers too, and I just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to everybody that stopped by and told me you read the comic! You guys make me feel so awesome, and it just made my weekend that you’re already out there enjoying the comic so much! :’D And also thanks to everybody new that stopped by! I met a lot of really great people that discovered the comic for the first time, and to all of you- HELLO, and thank you! Getting to talk to people about what I love is so invigorating- I hope it doesn’t make me too selfish to be happy to get to talk about the comic, haha!

In other news, now that Nekocon’s all out of the way, the newly received reprints and reorders are now available to order on the site again! I have 40 books in stock, so go check it out! I’ll also be working out the time to record part 2 of the audio commentary soon, so hang in there guys! It’ll probably happen sometime after UP! Fair in Lexington, KY next weekend, which my bro Jerzy is co-organizing! I unfortunately won’t be able to make it for the show, but it sounds like it’ll be really great, so if any of you are near that area I HIGHLY recommend checking it out!

OH MAN guys! I should write blog posts more often but I basically never do ever because I am the worst! SORRY ABOUT THAT :(

ANYWAY, I wanted to pop in because there are some exciting things up!

FIRST EXCITING THING: I did get my reprints back! They are great, but I had to immediately use basically all of them for orders from various places! One of those places, by the way, is Midtown Comics in NYC! They aren’t selling them on the site, but rather in their main west side store, if I am correct. I actually haven’t been able to get over there to check yet, hahah! (Big ups to Jisuk for helping me out with that!) SO, if you’re able to get there from NYC, you should be able to buy one in-store! Unless they’re already sold out, which I highly doubt but that would be RAD too.

OTHER EXCITING THING: I have another printing of books headed my way, which means I’ll have more up on the site very very soon! Like, in a couple days soon! I’m hoping for by Tuesday actually, although they won’t start shipping until after the weekend. WHICH leads me to…

ANOTHER EXCITING THING: I will be at Nekocon this weekend, down in Virginia Beach! I will have my books and pins, and be doing commissions on the spot at the con! So STOP BY and say hello, because I’ll be looking for company! I will high five your hand right off, YOU HAVE NO IDEA

Hey guys, just as a heads up! Some of the books I have right now that I’ve been using to fulfill orders are misprinted. Thankfully I have enough for SPX, but that means so I don’t oversell myself I’m gonna have to pause online ordering for a while. If you order one now, it will not be shipping out until I get replacement books back! ALTHOUGH, if I have leftover books after SPX I will use those too! I’ll let you all know after this weekend!

Oh my goodness oh my goodness you guys, SPX is less than a week away!! oAo I DONT EVEN KNOW, WHAT.

Anyway, I’ll be exhibiting at SPX this weekend! I’ll be at table H5 alongside my buddies A. Hunt and T. Williams over at Goodbye Chains, with the awesome Dechanique of La Macchina Bellica on one side, and the equally awesome Jon Griffiths of Beyond the Canopy on the other!

Basically what I’m saying is row H is going to be the coolest row at the con. I will have the book with me, as well as the new pins, a print, and the minis! I’m also thinking of doing sketch cards, so if that’s anything you guys would like to see, let me know!

I’ll also be running over to Intervention as an attendee all day on Friday to scope it out- it sounds like a really cool con and it’s close enough that going to both is totally doable! I’m pretty psyched, it’s gonna be a CRAZY weekend!

Oh no I am so bad at blogging! I always feel like I have to save this space for something incredibly profound, but I really think I should shut up and type.

I’ve been pretty busy recently because I’m gearing my way toward getting the print files prepped to do up the Volume 1 paperback for Lavelle. Once I get everything going I’ll be sending the files off to the printer and hoping for the best! I plan on premiering the books at SPX in the fall, although I might put up the ordering info on the site before then. I’m still kind of playing this by ear! WHOOPS.

I haven’t read any new books or printed comics recently, BUT I did totally just fall in love with Homestuck! I read the whole archives in a crazy binge over like three days. It feels like I’m late to the party because the internet’s already reading it, but if you haven’t, check it out! I’ve done some goofy fanart sketches. Someday I hope I have enough time to do more fanart for some of my other favorite webcomics!
